About Us

Fork & Spoon is Montana’s first pay-what-you-can restaurant. We focus on creating homegrown, scratch-made cooking using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Everyone is invited to join us for a delicious evening meal at a price you can afford.

Because we operate on a unique pay-what-you-can model, each person who walks in our door receives a great meal and a welcoming experience, regardless of how much they pay. We seek to build a better community by providing a delicious affordable dinner at a price that meets your budget, offering a seat at the table for everyone. When diners walk in our door, they are greeted by a host who takes their order and asks if they would like to make a contribution for their meal. Diners who would like to contribute may give any amount. We set the menu, you set the price!

Fork & Spoon is perfect for families with children who seek a healthy, kid-friendly menu. Take-out orders are perfect for picking up on your way home from work.

we are a Social Enterprise

Fork & Spoon is Montana’s first social enterprise restaurant. A social enterprise is a business or organization whose profit supports the common good. Traditional business strategies are applied to generate sustainable income and profit, which in turn are reinvested into the organization to advance a chosen social mission. Examples of successful social enterprises around the country include LA KitchenHomeboy Industries, and Chrysalis.

Fork & Spoon operates as a social enterprise in several ways. First, our pay-what-you-can model generates a nightly income from patrons who are able to pay, which in turn offsets the cost of diners who are unable to contribute towards their meal. Second, we run a Catering & Space Rental for-profit initiative as well as The MIghty Spork Food Truck from which all income is directly reinvested back into Fork & Spoon to support the pay what you can dinner service.

Lastly, Fork & Spoon operates a workforce development component by employing individuals facing barriers to employment, such as homelessness, recovery from addiction, or incarceration. By providing employment to these individuals, we hope to provide them with a restaurant focused skill set and the opportunity to reintegrate into the local workforce.

how we fill our plate
